    I have just started working with this theme on the website (

    I am wanting to slightly simplify the welcome page.

    Would there be anyway to remove the gap between the portfolio filter options and the portfolio thumbnails. So the whole section appears to be in the same div? I would also like to remove the the rule (dotted section) which appears next to the filter options. Is any of this possible?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I’m also encountering lots of difficulties with video, I’ve tried to read through other posts but all the discussion is fragmented.

    Can I please have a definitive answer on how to properly fit a Youtube/Vimeo video into a portfolio page, without the letterbox effect or the white space below the video if i use custom css.

    If you look at this page you will see I encounter the same problem if the video is part of a slidshow, the only entry in the portfolio post or with the right side bar.

    I’d be extremely disappointed if there wasn’t a way for me to correctly format videos within this great theme.

    Thank you for any help.

    Hi andrewlong365,

    The definitive answer is no, there isn’t a specific setting to prevent video from displaying with the black bars if the content area doesn’t match the video dimensions.

    Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    .videoslide .slideshow_media_wrap {
    height: 56%;
    #top .slideshow .videoslide {
    background: transparent;

    Just make sure you use a preview image for videos or else they will display incorrectly in the overview of the portfolio (click on the video icon in the slideshow section of that portfolio after adding a video to give it a preview image).

    Its a fairly good start and one I use as a hack in dynamically adding video content in my freelance sites but unless you know the dimensions for every video you’ll be adding there has to be either some hacks (like this) or allow for not completely perfect alignment.

    For the spacing above the portfolio:

    #top .portfolio-wrap {
    margin-top: 0px;

    and the sorting background:

    .sort_width_container {
    background: none;

    Hi Devin, thanks so much for getting back to me – the code for the spacing works perfectly.

    Unfortunately that workaround isn’t an ideal solution for me because it seems to leave a large spacing between the video and the slideshow dots beneath.

    If it helps, I am going to be uploading all the videos myself so I can create them all at a consistent size, that wouldn’t be a problem.

    I noticed on the live preview of the theme there is a video that displays perfectly ( click the ‘forest life’ link and see, i would love to be able to display like that.

    If nothing else, is there a way to fix the size of the container when you don’t use a slideshow. So th evideos would be stacked on tip of each other without any spacing.

    It seems like a strange problem for the theme that videos can’t be displayed correctly, especially if it is the only element in the portfolio post.

    Once again, any help is greatly appreciated.

    That video is the default implementation with a preview image added on to the video. So nothing special needed to get that effect.

    The buttons can probably be fixed with a css tweak if you want to use the css from above.
