Hi: The images on my Home Page slideshow have to much of a delay and take too much time to upload. What can I do fix this. It does not look good since it’s the home page. I have tried compressing but it has not helped.

    Thank you!

    Hi borinqen!

You can try and test your site’s speed and performance using:

    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpreticonstruction.com%2F

Try optimising your images, use a minification and cache plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/

You can also increase WordPress’ PHP memory limit by adding the following line to wp-config.php:

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’96M’);

    Cheers!

Thank you, I have used total cache plugin on other sites , however, I did try uploading it to your theme and it says that it cannot be uploaded due to performance and security. Is there another plugin that you can recommend for cache?

    Thank you!

    Hi!

W3Total Cache works fine with Enfold. You can manually install the plugin if you cannot use the automatic plugin installer.

Here are the instructions for the manual install:

To install a WordPress Plugin manually:

    1. Download your WordPress Plugin to your desktop.
    2. If downloaded as a zip archive, extract the Plugin folder to your desktop.
    3. Read through the “readme” file thoroughly to ensure you follow the installation instructions.
    4. With your FTP program, upload the Plugin folder to the wp-content/plugins folder in your WordPress directory online.
    5. Go to Plugins screen and find the newly uploaded Plugin in the list.
    6. Click Activate Plugin to activate it.

    Regards,
    Arvish
