Hi, Can you direct me to the iconset used for the social images in Corona?

    Dear Kriesi Team,

I too would love to have exactly the same feature as requested by karthik16: a small LinkedIn chicklet that behaves in exactly the same way as the existing Social Media chicklets (Twitter, Facebook): that is, a LinkedIn chicklet which:

    – changes color on mouseover

    – puts up a message, i.e. “Connect on LinkedIn”

    – links to some URL that we specify

I don’t ask that you make changes to the Corona theme itself to make this possible through the WordPress admin area- I know that that would be asking for too much for such a small feature request. But if you could simply provide us with the two necessary images, and the PHP code, so that each of us could hard code the changes directly into the header.php file ourselves, that would be more than enough. I believe that many Corona users would find this most useful. Please do let us know. Thank you-

    Kind regards,

    Hi Karthik16,

Here are the icon sets that are listed under resources used:

Portions of Iconsweets2 Icon set –

Portions of Iconset Discovery – No link

Portions of Web Injection Icon Set – (Purchase code hidden if logged out) /

This has been requested a few times and I don’t believe Kriesi will be implementing an admin option for any other social buttons. You can hover replace on or add one yourself as its pretty simple.

Open up the header.php and add this line (with your own modifications) below either the twitter, facebook or rss lines:

    <li class='yournewlcass' ><a href='' target='_blank'><?php _e('Find Us on a social network', 'avia_framework')?></a></li>

Now you need to create the new css class that will style the element. This depends on the style or skin you are using. Open up either dark-skin.css or minimal-skin.css and search for twitter or facebook. For the minimal-skin.css, the style you’ll find is:

    .social_bookmarks .twitter a{background: transparent url(../images/skin-minimal/icons-social-twitter.png) 0 0 no-repeat;}

Copy and paste it into your custom.css stylesheet and modify the elements to fit your social icon. So the .twitter will become .yoursocialname and the image url will need to point to where you put your new icon.

Now save the files and re-upload them to your server.

    Dear Devin,

The website address you provided to Karthik16 for the iconSweets2 icons has a link to download the iconSweets2 icon set as a zipped file. However, that link does not work. My guess is that the creator of these icons, understandably, wants people to purchase his “Deluxe” set, rather than continuing to use his free set. After looking around a bit I was able to find a link for the standard, free version of the iconSweets2 set that does work, on this page: (Purchase code hidden if logged out)(Purchase code hidden if logged out)(Purchase code hidden if logged out) -yummygum

    I hope this is helpful.

    I have two requests:

    1) I do not have Photoshop, and the iconSweets2 icon set is presented as a Photoshop file. I would greatly appreciate it if you could make available the LinkedIn social icon, but as a PNG that we can use with Corona- both the regular LinkedIn PNG and the “hover replace” LinkedIn PNG.

    2) Do the instructions you wrote above provide for the “hover replace” effect of the new LinkedIn social icon, so that the manually created LinkedIn icon behaves the same as the built in Twitter and Facebook icons? Please let us know. Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Phil,

    1) I’m not comfortable offering a modified version of the individual icon pulled from the set just because of re-distribution issues since the download from the main site isn’t working. I’ll ask Kriesi if he can add in some other social icons into the images folder in the next round of theme updates (but no guarantee).

If you have the files now, you can always download a trial version of Photoshop.

    2) Yes, the css will work in the same way the others do. The hover effect is added on to all the links in the social bar with a different line.

did an linked in button get added?

No, not yet. I couldn’t find it in the image folder.
