    I would like to do it, maybe with a reduce picture of the author´s face. I know that in the single post there are an summarized information about the author, but I would like to show that in the Front page, beside the name.

    There are probably two dozen plugins that are capable of doing that, some free and some premium. I just searched on Google for ‘author box wordpress plugin’ and the first 7 items are all free and highly rated.

    Hello Nick,

    Obviously I didn´t refer to a plugin. I think that I wrote that, I don´t want to place the author´s face in Single Post, but in Index. There are dozen plugins which allow you to place a complete summary, info, links to social media… And pictures too of the authors, but my objetive is to place a little picture beside the name. I was speaking about the Newscast template code. The template has this code to place the author:

    <span class=”author ie6fix” style=”width: 110px;padding-left: 28px;margin-left: 0px;”><?php _e(”,’newscast’);?> <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?></span>

    I would like to know if it´s possible to place automatically the picture besides (of WordPress´s author-user), not only the name.

    Hi Antonio,

    You can use something like:

    <?php echo get_avatar( get_the_author_email(), '48' ); ?>

    Which pulls the avatar for the author by its email and sets the size to 48. The issue will be getting that image to align to the area since the icons right now are in about a 26px sqaure. An image that size will be quite hard to see for most.
