I would like to replace the RSS icon in the home page of my website with an Instagram icon instead.
I tried following these instructions from some old threads, but they dont seem to work anymore with the latest version of Flashlight.
Could you let me know what the best way to do this is?

Please go to Appearance > Editor and edit Sidebar.php file and find
echo " <li class='rss'><a href='".avia_get_option('feedburner',get_bloginfo('rss2_url'))."'>RSS</a></li> ";
and change it to
echo " <li class='rss'><a href='https://www.instagram.com/'>RSS</a></li> ";
then go to wp-content/themes/flashlight/images/skin-dark/icons-rounded-rss.png via FTP and change that icon to Instagram icon :)

I have located the wp-content/themes/flashlight/images/skin-dark/icons-rounded-rss.png via FTP and changed the icons-rounded-rss.png file to icons-rounded-instagram.png and it just made the rss icon disappear.
What do I need to do to get the instagram photo up?August 22, 2017 at 7:36 am #842340
Please do not rename the image. Use “icons-rounded-rss” as the instagram image file name.

I have the same problem but i just don’t have idea where to found wp-content/themes/flashlight/images/skin-dark/icons-rounded-rss.png via FTP?
Can you please help me?

Do you have the cpanel info? You can access the image from there. Or provide the “instagram” image that you want to use and the FTP details to the site then we’ll replace the default image.

I did everything as Yigit suggested but the rss icon is always present and the instagram icon does not.
Where did I go wrong?

https://cl.ly/3H3u2C0K3s0e These are the images that come with Flashlight, Instagram icon is not there, you need to find and upload your own and then you can use it.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

In fact it is what I did but does not change anything …
I corrected the code as suggested by Yigit, after that I went to wp-content/themes/flashlight/images/skin-dark/icons-rounded-rss.png
and I’ve uploaded an instagram image but it’s all the same as before
I’m sure I’m wrong in something but I do not know what
I have to delete the folder “icons-rounded-rss” ?

Did you replace the icons-rounded-rss.png file with the instagram image? Please don’t rename the file. We need access via FTP because we won’t we be able to access the image in the Appearance > Editor panel.

I’m sorry but the FTP details are not working. What is the ftp url? We need access to your instagram image or icon as well.

I’m sorry but this is still not working. If you’re not sure about the details, please contact your hosting provider.

The credentials I gave you yesterday are those of my FTP account, I can login without problems, but I don’t know what i need to do now…

Is that the cpanel or the FTP login details? I tried to access it in the browser but it’s not working so it’s probably an FTP login details. I can’t connect to the file server either. Please hire a freelance developer or contact our partner, Codeable.

my hosting provider asks what you use to connect and which error you receive
I contacted them again and I had the login credentials you find in the private area.
If you continue to have problems please tell me what you need exactly.
With your colleague Mike we had similar problems but he managed to connect without problems …
Try to understand that for the whole theme I spent about $ 70, ( including 6 month assistance) if I have to spend 60-90 $ to change an icon seems to me quite excessive …
For me it is an unacceptable thing
Let me know something about it

I was able to login via FTP & WordPress and found that the instagram png is damaged and will not work, so I looked in your uploads folder in hopes to find copy of it but didn’t find one. If you link to the image here I will upload it for you and ensure that it works.
Thanks for your patience.
MikeFebruary 26, 2018 at 12:45 pm #917801February 26, 2018 at 2:53 pm #917852
Ok, I found one that matched your site, transparent & gray
I used this image because I understood your post to be asking this question, but if you prefer the color image I will upload that one.
I resized & renamed & uploaded it, and it now shows. Please clear your browser cache and check.

Perfect Mike, thank you!
However, I see that the general page is opened, not exactly my account
I went to see Flashlight-Contact & social stuff but there are areas of customization of the twitter, RSS and Facebook, how can I attach my Instagram account?
T.February 27, 2018 at 2:43 am #918132
I think that when you followed the instructions at the beginning, you made the link to instagram.com in the sidebar.php
I changed it to instagram.com/your-page/ and now it works good.
I added this file to your child theme, so you won’t lose the setting on the next upgrade.
Please check. Let us know if there anything else we can assist with on this issue.

It seems to me that everything works fine now, I thank you very much!
