    Hello all,

    I have a few things I would like to be able to edit but I am having problems figuring out where they are. I have basic knowledge of HTML and some CSS but not enough to get me around everything, I would really appreciate it if you could assist me on the following:

    1. Where are the parameters for the menu bar? I would like to be able to adjust the height of the clickable area and be able to vertically center the text.

    2. I need to assign a background to the “cell” where the article snippets are on the home page (area #2 on the image here.) and I would like to also change the color of the read more button.

    3. I would like for the “bg.png” image to be a bit wider than the slider but not repeat. How can I do this?

    4. Lastly I would like to be able to change the color for the links, hover, click colors.

    Thank you all in advance for the assistance, this is a GREAT themes and you guys are always helpful.

    Regards,

    Felipe

    Hey!

    Thank you for using the theme. The Newscast theme is a bit outdated, please try our latest theme, Enfold.

    1.) You can use this selector to change the navigation area:

    .catnav li a {
    display: block;
    float: left;
    padding: 13px 10px 10px 10px;
    width: 114px;
    border: none;
    text-decoration: none;
    line-height: 20px;
    outline: none;
    min-height: 30px;
    }

    2.) Use this:

    .entry.entry-no-pic {
    background: black;
    padding: 20px;
    margin-bottom: 20px;
    }

    3.) I’m sorry but can you please provide a screenshot?

    4.) Change link color with this on style.css:

    a { color: red; }

    Hello again, here is a screenshot of more or less what the site will be looking like. And you can see what it looks like now by going to houseofops.com.

    1. How to edit the color of the text on the page as well as the text on the slider?

    2 The .a { color:red } did not work for me. I am able to change the color of the normal link but not of the active nor the hover state. I want to be able to change the color for every link. including those that appear on the side bars.

    3. The logo has to be that size, around 1000px wide, but I haven’t been able to make it fit properly.

    4. The cream colored area is where the text will go so I would like to be able to set it as a static background. I know CSS allows for multiple BG images but I wasnt sure how to implement it on the style sheet.

    Thats all I think i need now. Again, thank you all for the help and the theme.

    Cheers!

    Hi!

    1. Try with this:

    #contentwrap *{
        color: red;
    }

    2. You can use pseudo-classes for that:

    a{
    color: red;
    }
    a:active{
    color: blue;
    }
    a:hover{
    color: green;
    }

    3. The following code will do it but you’d need to edit the background image in order to match the new height otherwise it will look like this.

    #top .logo a img {
        width: 1000px;
    }

    .catnav_wrapper {
        margin-top: 125px;
    }

    4. This will do it:

    #contentwrap {
        background: #010101;
        overflow: hidden;
    }

    Best regards,
    Josue

    Hello again,

    I dont want to have a color as a background, I have made a paper texture to be used as the background to the content area. Thats why I need to have a static bg image besides the bg you guys already set up for the header.

    Thank you.

    Hey!

    If you are referring to point 4 you can set a background image there:

    #contentwrap {
        background: url(_PATH_TO_BACKGROUND_IMAGE_);
        overflow: hidden;
    }

    Cheers!

    Hello again,

    I dont think I know how to add a pseudo class. lol. I tried looking it up on the W3 School site but I just got more confused. Also, the text color changing thing works but now the color that works for the overall content of the site is too dark for the background of the content in the slider.

    Can the bg or text color of the slider be changed?

    Thanks for all your help guys, I know I’ve asked a lot but I’m the only one “coding” this thing. Really appreciate your help.

    Regards,

    Felipe

    Hi!

    Yes, you can change the background by using this code:

    .position_excerpt, #top #featured .feature_excerpt {
    background: white;
    }

    .newsselect {
    border-left: 1px solid #595959;
    background: white;
    }

    .newsselect .single_item:hover, .newsselect .active_item {
    background-color: #ffffff;
    text-shadow: none;
    }

    Maybe this will explain css pseudo class better:
