I placed a file “htaccess” and “htpasswd” in the admin to protect it, I made a test purchase with WooCommerce by enrolling with a new account the problem is that the client can not go up the order it is blocked by a pop up opens asking him to identify himself.

I then delete both file and it works but the admin does not protect.

Is it possible to protect the admin without it causes a blockage at the shop?

    Thank you for your help

    Hi Aaron,

Just for clarification, what admin folder are you trying to protect? WordPress’ admin (wpadmin) or WooCommerce’s admin folder? I’m going to tag other support team members to see if that may have an answer for you.

I don’t think it’s possible because some ajax requests are required and if you block the directory for unauthorized users these ajax requests won’t work too.

Thank you for your answers, but to respond to Mya I put the “htpasswd and htaccess” in the “admin”

As Dude said, I don’t think it will be possible to restrict folder access in the way you are describing. You might want to check with the WooCommerce forums if you are worried about security issues and definitely look into forcing transactions with SSL.
