How do I change footer headings and links? I need to change the name of the Bookmark column and change all those links underneath it.
I figured it was in the widget area but when I click on the footer widgets they are all blank and there’s no way to edit them?
thanks for the helpMay 3, 2012 at 8:18 pm #74162
You’ll first need to add those widgets to your footer. Then you can name them yourself. The ones present now are just added automatically by the theme.

I need help changing the footer Copyright info too. I saw that you can change it by editing a line in the footer.php file, i tried this but then my frontpage slider stops working too?

Open up footer.php and search for following line:
<span class='copyright'>© <?php _e('Copyright','avia_framework'); ?> - <a href='<?php echo home_url('/'); ?>'><?php echo get_bloginfo('name');?></a> - <a href='http://kriesi.at'>Theme Design by Kriesi.at</a></span>
You can replace the text within the copyright span with any custom text of your choice.May 8, 2012 at 5:13 pm #74166
Can you explain the process of adding the widgets to the footer?
I can’t drag these items anywhere

Go to Appearance > Widgets and you’ll see several “Footer – Column X” areas – drag’n’drop your widgets into these areas.

Hi Peter…maybe I’m not explaining myself well.
In my footer I see 3 columns of links that are already in place. I want to be able to edit the column named “Bookmarks”. These columns were already in place when I installed the theme.
Specifically which widget do I need to add to the Footer in order to do this? I don’t want to add any other widgets to this footer, just edit the bookmark column.
Nothing in the documentation explains how these footer links work or how to edit them?

Guys please respond, I have to get this website finished for a client….All my footer widgets are empty right now, where do the footer links created by the theme reside?
thanksMay 16, 2012 at 5:51 am #74170
You can edit the code in includes/register-widget-area.php. The bookmark widget is just a dummy text/code which will be displayed if you don’t use any widgets in the footer column widget area.
