    i want to increase the the height of the slider on the home page to 475px. i used this code that i found from a previous poster

    .home .slideshow.fade_slider, .home .slideshow_container {
    height: 351px !important;

    2 issues

    1. The white horizontal strip under the slider images got bigger – as opposed to what i wanted to happen which was my images filling the space. my images are 900 x 475 – can you tell me how to get just these images showing as a slideshow without any white space underneath.

    2. after putting the code into the css via the admin area i noticed that the arrow feature underneath the menu stopped working – it still works on the content pages. even after removing the css the arrow issue still exists on the home page.

    you can see the home page here –

    many thanks

    Hey onthespot!

    1.) Are you planning to have only the slider on the home page? You can add this on Quick CSS:

    .home .fullsize {
    display: none !important;

    2.) The arrow is still working. You don’t have a “Home” menu item.

    hi ismael

    thanks for the reply. i am still having a problem with slide height and/or image cropping

    my original image 900 x 475 was not showing full height in slider – it was being cropped down to about 360 i think.

    so i created a new image at 930 x 494 to see if that would help. it didn’t – the image was still being cropped to around 360

    can you tell me what i should be doing so that i can display the full size images either 900 x 475 or 930 x 494 or do i need to make them another size so that the slide doesn’t crop them.

    is the default slider width 930 or 990 – i have been looking in functions.php but changes made here have not helped me solve this problem.

    any help much appreciated as i can’t seem to fix this.

    Edit functions.php, find this code:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['featured'] = array('width'=>990, 'height'=>360 ); // images for fullsize pages and fullsize slider

    Replace it with:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['featured'] = array('width'=>990, 'height'=>475); // images for fullsize pages and fullsize slider

    Regenerate the thumbnails using this plugin:

    thanks you very much ismael

    that problem is now fixed as per your instructions

    Glad it is fixed. :)
