    Hi there
    I have recently updated wordpress to 3.8 and featured image is not working. It doesn’t save in the pop up image box.
    I have got the latest version of the theme installed (1.7)
    I have tested by deactivating all my plugins and reactivating and it hasn’t worked but here they are:

    Contact Form 7
    Hide Admin Bar
    Rockstar Map for WordPress
    Twitter Widget Pro
    Ultimate Coming Soon Page
    YouTube Channel
    Simple Youtube shortcode

    Any help or a work around would be great

    Thank you!

    Hey jimmygg!

    Can you post the link to your website? I do not have such issue on my installation

    Best regards,

    Hi Yigit
    sure it is

    The theme will save whatever image is in your slideshow section first as the featured image automatically. It may not show but that is what gets set by the theme.

    Best regards,

    Thanks for the reply Devin

    Sorry I I got a bit confused.

    What I really want to achieve is have a thumbnail for the custom posts widget without the need to have a standout featured image.

    I managed it on the first post where the featured image is set throughout he pop up box, doesn’t appear as a *hero* type image but does appear as a post thumbnail.

    You can see

    and here

    Any pointers would be great.

    Like what Devin the theme will save whatever image that you uploaded in Featured media box as the featured image. Edit any posts or page then look for the Feature media box. Any first image that you uploaded using the “Add image to slideshow” button will be use as featured image. The theme have a function that removes the featured image or post thumbnail. You can find it on functions-eunoia.php:

    //remove post thumbnails from pages, posts and various custom post types
    	add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );
    	add_action('posts_selection', 'avia_remove_post_thumbnails');
    	add_action('init', 'avia_remove_post_thumbnails');
    	function avia_remove_post_thumbnails($msg)
    		global $post_type;
    		$remove_when = array('post','page','portfolio');
    			foreach($remove_when as $remove)
    				if($post_type == $remove || (isset($_GET['post_type']) && $_GET['post_type'] == $remove)) { remove_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' ); };
    		return $msg;

    Best regards,

    thanks Ismael

    So from this can you help me figure out what I should change to make the featured image not appear above the post (i.e. be hidden) but for the thumbnail of the image to show in the widget.

    Open up /wp-content/themes/eunoia/includes/loop-index.php and replace

    echo $sliderHtml;

    if(!is_single()) echo $sliderHtml;

    thanks for getting back to me Peter

    I have done this, put it back in and nothing changes.
    i.e. featured image still appears above the post when put into ‘add image to slideshow’ and on the widget thumb

    Perhaps the above needs to go elsewhere as well?

    Thanks once again, any pointers?

    Add this on Quick CSS or custom.css to remove the featured image above posts:

    .single #slideshow_big {
    display: none;

    Best regards,

    In the end that nailed it! v simple!

    Thanks for the support everyone. Really impressive considering i bought this so long ago.
