I recently downloaded your theme and uploaded it through my PHP client through Godaddy. Installation was complete and actually visable through the themes appearance. Your theme looked to be installed successfully but when I clicked preview the message below was rendered. I called and was on customer support with Godaddy to ensure that I did everything correct from my end. We actually walked through the process again to ensure that was the case. Again, same response.

The result was customer support telling me to contact the designer of this theme and to see if you can correct the problem. This wordpress installed application has been used by other themes before and I have not had the same problems. I love your theme as want to design on it immediately but right now Im in the weeds. Please help!

The message below is what Ive recieved as my response when I go to preview or activate.

“Warning: include_once(/home/content/74/5838474/html/fortmyerssalon/wp-content/themes/newscast/framework//include_framework.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: Not a directory in /home/content/74/5838474/html/fortmyerssalon/wp-content/themes/newscast/functions.php on line 92

I’ve come across FTP problems with GoDaddy before .The problem is it skipped some required files when you put them online. There are a couple of options to fix this:

1.) Upload the theme folder again using FTP. WordPress will only tell you about PHP fatal errors so missing CSS / images won’t give you a warning.

2.) You could delete the entire theme folder from your server, ZIP up the theme files and use the WordPress theme installer to upload and extract the theme files.

If you have problems ZIPing the theme folder or have any other questions let me know.

    Since your post:

    1. I have tried to upload the Zip file from wordpress directly and because newscast is so large it times out.

    2. I have tried and to upload the file though my FTP client at godaddy. Still the same.

1.) Can you double check that the ZIP files are literally the theme files and not the PSD files as well? You may want to consider a host with better resources if you get problems with time-outs frequently / slow loading pages.

2.) What FTP client are you using? Do you get any error messages?

The theme aint that big, to tell the truth, it might be that you are actually uploading the wrong folder. You might want to check out this tutorial on theme installation:

and this message usually appears only if you want to install the theme on a wordpress installation with version 2.9 or less:

Fatal error: Class 'description_walker' not found in
    on line 124

The theme however needs wordpress 3 to work properly since the latest update. Please also update your wordpress version ;)

    Kresi and James

I downloaded this theme becasue it was 3.0 compatible. I currently have that installed.

I also have unzipped the file to go to the file newscast and also have uploaded that to my ftp client

Within my wordpress it actually shows the theme downloaded correctly expect for when i go to activate is when i get my messages. If you would like for me to send my login info I would be more than happy to do this for you as at this point desperation has turned the corner.

Please create a WordPress admin account for me and email the details to support {at} jamesmorrisondesign {dot} com with the subject:

    and I’ll take a look.

Just received, reviewed and replied to your email. :)

I replied to your email on the reuploading of the files onto wordpress. Unfortunately when I place the files from Theme Forest into my FTP client if breaks the folders up. Which files should be required for the download because when i redownload its always broken up into multiple files and I dont know which ones are required. Thanks so much

Using the details you supplied by email, I have uploaded and activated the Newscast theme which works fine now!

You need to setup the theme options to your preferences.
