I have an Envira Gallery plugin installed to allow people to view a video gallery on the home page.
The videos are supposed to play in a pop-up window, over a transparent black background layer.

It was recently brought to my attention that this pop-up functionality was broken, and all my clickable homepage videos were playing “audio only” with a grey screen overlaying the homepage.

I am using a dynamic template to generate the homepage content, with shortcodes for Envira Gallery content.

I have taken the same shortcode and applied it to a non-homepage Page, and the gallery worked roughly as it should.

The homepage, where the problem is visible, can be found by visiting the attached website’s root domain.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how I can restore this functionality.

    Thank you all,

    Hey CarletonTorpin,

Could you please attach some screenshots of the issue?

    Best regards,

Thank you for examining the issue.

I see from your screenshot that the gallery is working for you on the Test Page that I made. That Test Page is a demonstration of the proper functionality of the Envira gallery video pop-up.

It is that kind of functionality that I want to see on the homepage, which features the same shortlink gallery code as the Test Page did.

Summing up: the homepage gallery is not properly pop-ing the video from the Envira gallery.

My specific problem is an error that happens only on the homepage, as far as I can see.

Attached is a look at the homepage, after I have clicked one of the six example slides; it’s a grey-transparent screen with audio playing and no video.

Thank you again for your efforts in getting this issue resolved. :)

    Hi CarletonTorpin,

Oh.. sorry about that, well, it can very much be the conflict with the Revslider not with the Enfold thouhg. The test page dose not have the slider and it works there.

    Best regards,

Thank you again for your checking of this issue.

I have added the Revslider shortcode to that same Test Page and all pop-up video gallery entries play as they should.

That Test Page is using the identical shortcodes as the homepage.

Before requesting support on this matter, I did a fair amount of testing to see where the problem might be.

Since the test page shows proper functionality of both plugins, I do not believe either plugin is at the core of the issue.

I looked to see if there was something in the homepage header that might cause a conflict, but I’m not experienced enough looking at code to know what might cause this problem.

Thank you for continuing to assist me with finding a solution to this homepage pop-up issue.

I fixed it by adding this code to the quick css field:

    #top .envirabox-slide--iframe .envirabox-content.envirabox-hidden {
        display: inline-block;

You need to clear your browser cache to see the change (because of wpengine’s cache).

    Best regards,

Thank you for fixing the code to reinstate the lightbox pop-up functionality! :D

I’ve verified that it is working again on my end.

On a possibly related note, all icons on certain page are failing to load. All they show is a broken link and a file name.

I believe these were icons included in the theme, since they’re added via shortcode and I didn’t see any iconography plugins in my plugins folder.

    Perhaps it’s a [dropcap1] shortcode issue?

Will you take a look at the link included below and see if there’s an easy fix?

Thank you again for all your help with this!

I checked your website and the browser console shows some 404 (not found) errors (see private content). These errors indicate the images/icons are missing and the browser can’t download and display them. I’d recommend to re-upload the icon files to the right folder (wp-content/uploads/2015/07) and then they should be displayed again. You can use ftp to upload the files.

    Best regards,

Thank you for helping me to see that those links were part of an additional upload series that I had done back in 2015.

I had mistakenly assumed that I’d used images that were standard icons, included with the Propulsion theme.

    I’ve fixed them all now.

Thank you all for your assistance getting the website back in working order again. :D

    You’re all awesome!
