I am new to WP and am not a designer. I have purchased the Shoutbox theme and am having trouble dropping and dragging pages in menu setup. After I select the page and it goes to the bottom of the menu list, it will not allow me to move it to the correct position in order to set up the nav menu. I have followed the instructions (left click on title to show four arrows and then drag and drop to where I want it). It shows the left arrow but when I attempt to drag and drop it will not move. I receive a black circle with a line through it. I have tried 3 different browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome) and asked two different designers (over the telephone) and they cannot seem to help me. I’m hoping this is an easy fix. Help!!

I believe you’re trying to drag menu items you haven’t added yet. There’s a checkbox next to the list of menu possibilities – you can tick them and then press “add to menu” after this they’ll appear below your list – (I think – if you have javascript enabled in your browser) you can then drag the menu items wherever you want them to be in the menu.

If this fails you can google the issue like “wordpress menu drag problem”, since it’s not a theme issue. For example this might work.

Thank you, Chris! I have no problem with the checkbox and adding items to the menu, it’s when they arrive on the menu side that they will not ‘drag and drop’ anywhere. I will have a read through the link you sent as it sounds like it is a WP issue and not Shoutbox. Thank you for your help!

Some IE users reported the problem too – maybe try to switch the browser.
