I’d like to display a portfolio category on the mainpage, under the slideshow, but in the backend I can only find the function to add pages, but not a portfolio.

Is it possible to add a portfolio to the mainpage?

If you set the site to display a page as the front page (WP admin -> Settings -> Reading) then you could :)

    Best regards,

Hey James, thanks a lot! But now the slider is gone – how can I bring back the slider?

You can’t have both without modifying the theme. :(

I don’t have time to do this for you (it’s fairly complicated) but you could hire someone to help you? (Purchase code hidden if logged out)(Purchase code hidden if logged out) -to-make-some-money/24795

    Hi James,

    thanks for the reply.

Is it in general possible to add anything else other than portfolio items to a portfolio page? Or does displaying a portfolio category on a page automatically override all content of that page?

I’m asking because then I just might add a separate slider above the portfolio items, maybe that would be easier?

The Portfolio template / page uses the Portfolio Custom Post Type which is setup by the theme and pulls in posts from this post type.

You can add other content to the Portfolio page by editing /template_portfolio.php and adding an additional loop for posts or the slider. Have a look at index.php for the code to add the slider.

    Thanks James!
