I’d like to be able to remove the ability for users to add one of the native sliders when posting. I have no problem with how the theme handles a single featured image and I’d like to keep that functionality (if changing the button labels), but I want to prevent users from being able to create a slideshow, especially because creating one seems to turn off the other slider plugin that I am using. If I can remove all of this and use wordpress’ native featured images instead, that will work as well.

    Please help?

Do you have multiple admins? I’m not sure what you mean by Users, only admins can create and alter slideshows.

    Hi there,

Let me try to explain again: I am talking about when you create a new post. When you go to create a new post or edit an existing post, you have the option to create a slideshow using the Featured Media section by adding more than one image or video. I want to restrict Featured Media to only one image or one video, so that no slideshow is created.

    Hi MiriamJoy,

I’m not sure how to restrict the Featured Media to only one image or one video but I think the best thing to do is to inform those users who has the capability to add Featured Media that they must add only one image or video.
