    I’d like to delete the following off the Habitat theme for my friend’s site:

    1. The four footer lines and their copy below

    2. The “Design by – WordPress Themes”

    Hey clairemorrisdesign!

    1) Can you post a screenshot? Would you like to remove footer widgets completely?
    2) Do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately? Make sure to check “Set as private reply (Only you and moderators will see the content of this post)” above Submit button

    This reply has been marked as private.

    1.) Go to Appearance > Widgets then add a Text widget on all Footer widget areas. Just leave them blank. You can use another Text widget on the fourth column, name it Contact then add the email address.

    2.) Go to Appearance > Editor, edit footer.php. Find this code on line 43:

    Design by <a href=""> - WordPress Themes</a>

    Remove it.

    Thanks for your help Ismael!

    1. How do I make the font of the widget header a different color than white? It looks invisible now because the background is also white.

    2. In the text widget, can I write “email” and have it link to an email address?

    You rock!

    I made the titles dark with this code:

    .footer .widgettitle {
        color: #333;

    Regarding a email link you can use a hyperlink with the mailto protocol:

    <a href="mailto: (Email address hidden if logged out) ">email</a>

    You are welcome, glad we could help :)
