    Hi there.

I was wondering, is there a way to change the date format displayed when using Newscast theme? When I use other themes, the format of dates displayed below the posts titles on the front page is as set in the WordPress general settings: l, j. F Y (that would be something like: Tuesday, 24. August 2010.). However, when I use Newscast all I get is Aug 24, 2010. So, is there a way to change it so the theme obeys the wp general settings (I guess it is a newscast theme problem because all other themes don’t have this issue)?

In your dashboard’s Settings/General you should have a Date Format option to choose. One the theme I believe the reason is because of space on the homepage so that the date does not have to wrap to a second line. Do you want the dates on the homepage to be longer or on the individual posts?

In the single.php for example find the_time(‘M d, Y’) and change it to whatever you prefer…you will find more information at this link http://codex.wordpress.org/Formatting_Date_and_Time

Found it! One line in single.php and three in index.php. Now I’ve set different formats for the single post page and another for all the rest.

    Thanks a lot.

Look for it also in archive.php.
