    The contact form that comes with the theme does not handle swedish characters åöä etc when I get the mail from the form to my mailbox.

    The content looks right but it´s the Subject I get in the mail that looks wierd like this “frÃ¥ga (FrÃ¥n Testsite kontaktformulär”.

    Does not look that pro for my customer to get, normally i turn the pages to UTF-8 that solves the problem but not in this case, or maybe I change the wrong file?

    Please help my out with this.!

    I tried to reproduce the error with German UTF-8 letters (öÖÜÄäüß, etc.) but Ymail and my hoster’s webmail panel display all characters properly. Maybe you set the browser options/char encoding to iso-8859-1 or your webmail interface doesn’t support utf-8 chars? Did you try Contact Form 7 or Formidable – maybe they produce the same error?

    No, I´ve never had this problem of my maybe 100 wordpressinstalls with different contact solutions, and if something been wrong it´s been easy to correct and often has it been to convert the document to UTF-8 from Western European.

    The content in the emails look as it should with the characters etc, but it´s in the auto created subject the problem are now today this was in the subject when I tested.from a spanish mail “crecepestañas (FrÃ¥n Swiss Clinic kontaktformulär Swiss Clinic)”, so these characters appears ñ, Ã¥ etc… but as I said just in the subject in the mail I get from the form.

    You can try to replace following line in abundanceframeworkphpclass-form-generator.php:

    mail($to, $subject, $message, $header);

    $subject = utf8_decode($subject);
    mail($to, $subject, $message, $header);

    Cool, now it works!!! Thanks alot for awesome a fast support! Good job!

    So what´s the main reason that it fails here and not on other places?

    I’m not sure but I guess it depends on php/server settings.
