Hi – my client wants a category specific search. He downloaded the WPSearch plugin but your theme and the plugin are not working together.
Can you tell me how to make a page with a category specific search for posts? Thank you!
Thank you for using our theme.
Have a look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/relevanssi/
This is a very powerfull plugin and replaces WPSearch, which started to fail.
How do I get a search box to show up on a page? What is the code that I can put into either the page or a template?
You could use our widget area element and drag the search widget to one of your custom sidebars.
Or if you want to just use pure HTML in the content then something like this.
<form role="search" method="get" class="search-form" action="http://www.yoursite.com"> <label> <span class="screen-reader-text">Search</span> <input type="search" class="search-field" placeholder="Search.." name="s" /> </label> <input type="submit" class="search-submit" value="Search" /> </form>
Or if you want to edit one of the template files then see here, https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_search_form.
