    I see the dark and minimal schemes. Would it be possible to use a grey instead of the black in the dark scheme?

    Hi sturpon711,

    You can customize the color scheme in the Styling tab of the Theme Options. There are a few things here and there that need specific css targeting so if you have something specific you can make a post or search on here for the css needed and we’ll assist as needed.

    Thank you for the reply, but I dont seem to see an option that allows me to change the color of the left menu or the color of the pages. I see various text color options and background color but that property doesnt apply because I have a gallery.

    Try to add this on your custom.css, to change the menu color

    .cufon_headings {
    color: red!important;

    That css only changes text color. I want to change the color of the actual container.

    This css begins to approach what I want but the menu’s that appear when you mouse-over the titles in the menu still appear black.

    What other things do I need to add to this css so it converts to everything to the grey.

    .box, .blog-meta, .return_content, .arrowslidecontrolls_fullscreen, .hide_content_wrap a, .img_count, .slide_thumbnails, .widget {

    background: grey;

    Do you want everything that is currently set to be white as the background to be instead be gray?

    If so, you’ll need to go through and inspect the content using something like Firebug for Firefox or Chrome’s insepct tool. Look for the main content background color declarations like the one you have above and then add them to your custom.css with the color you want. Some examples:

    .box, .blog-meta, .return_content, .arrowslidecontrolls_fullscreen, .hide_content_wrap a, .img_count, .slide_thumbnails, .widget {
    background: #333;
    #top .main_menu .menu ul {
    border: 1px solid #eee;
    background: #333;

    That should take care of the majority but there are a few other odds and ends that still have individual background color declarations.

    What if we just want to change one small element of the theme?

    For instance, I really want the “Click Here to View Full Screen” text to match the primary color of page links (#1994e6).

    Is there a way to adjust the Quick CSS to make this happen?

    You can change the color with:

    .hide_content_wrap .hide_content{

    Best regards,

    That code doesn’t appear to be changing anything on my site.

    Wouldn’t it logically need to include something about full screen mode?

    Hey mclaren777,

    CSS doesn’t work quite like that. The code is just changing the color for the class specified. In this case, Peter forgot to include the property so it doesn’t work when entered.

    Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

    .hide_content_wrap .hide_content {
    color: #1994e6;

    It just needed the property “color” added.

    Other individual changes can be done by using something like Firebug for Firefox or Chrome/Safari’s inspect tool. This link has a quick video on using Firebug but they are all similar: http://vimeo.com/20917974

    Thanks, that code worked perfectly.

    Hopefully the video will help sturpon711 make his desired changes.

    Glad I could help sort it out for you :)

    Firebug and any of the inspect tools are hugely powerful when you’ve gotten used to them and the basic structure of css.

    that code seems to have worked. Two more things

    1. I cant seem to make a portfolio page like the “portfolio 3 columns” page found in the flashlight demo site. I went to portfolio Items–>add new–> added media in both the ways to add a gallery/media. But whenever I preview it, the size isn’t quite right and I don’t get the option to write captions underneath of the images.

    2. I want to change the dimensions of the logo. I need more vertical space for it, what code do add for that?

    thank you

    Would you please show a url with the 3 column portfolio. It is too difficult to guess correctly your particular setup to provide you with the code now that you’ve made additional customizations. You can mask the url using http://www.goo.gl

    Hey sturpon711,

    There are two different 3 column portfolios one is an actual portfolio item itself like this: http://kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/portfolio-item/classic-3/

    The other is a set of portfolio items like this: http://kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/portfolio-3-columns/

    If you want the second one, you will need to create it from the Theme Options>Portfolio section and select 3 column with captions. It will pull together the portfolio categories of your choice and show a single image from each item (the first).

    The second set of portfolios like http://kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/portfolio-3-columns/ is what I am trying to make.

    I tried to do as you said, but I had an issue. I found where I could choose 3 columns in the Theme options –>Portfolio section but I didn’t see a with captions option. Could you be more specific, i even tried it with expanded properties and I didn’t see anything that would allow me to create the type of portfolio in the link with the caption.

    thank you

    There is no option for custom excerpts. Instead it is the option labled “Portfolio Title & Excerpt” and you should use the portfolio item’s Excerpt field to fill in a short description of that portfolio.

    Thank you for bearing with me on this, but I am still facing some issues. Should I be adding the images to the “Add Media” at the top or to the “Image Gallery” in the middle. I selected “3 column Gallery” in the Gallery options and inthe portfolio styling page. The format is certainly not working. http://036b939.netsolhost.com/WordPress/portfolio-item/portfolio1/ .

    Thank you,

    All of the images to be used by the theme functions should done with the meta box just under the visual gallery.

    The page you linked just has the images inserted into the visual editor. You don’t need to add any images to the visual editor as the theme functions will take care of displaying them based on the options you set.

    I added the photos to the “image gallery” under “gallery options” but the captions are not appearing underneath the photos still.

    I have the “portfolio title & excerpt” set to “yes” in the theme options. I don’t see what other items need to be changed. I’ve filled out every line for Title, Alternative text, caption, description in order to see if any show up, but none are.

    Individual portfolio items aren’t capable of displaying captions below them. That is only for the portfolio overview pages which show previews of each individual portfolio item.

    You can think of it like this: Portfolio items = groups of images and Portfolio overview = Group of grouped items. Only the overview has the ability to show the title and description because its the only thing that can accept that data and be output.
