June 22, 2022 at 5:47 pm #1356189Hey teamabovo,
Thanks for the login details. You are getting a 404 error on the file in private, could you try reaching out to your hosting provider to check if they can see why the server is responding with that error code please? If you should need further help, then please share server error logs with us.
Best regards,
RikardJune 22, 2022 at 5:59 pm #1356192Hello Richard, my hosting provider has a firewall or something like that. They need your IP address to give permission since it might have been flagged.
Thank youJune 22, 2022 at 8:26 pm #1356202Hi,
Thanks for the update. The firewall might be the reason as to why the server is returning a 404 error. What IP do they need and why? Please note that the file in question is located on your own server, so all they would have to do is to whitelist that particular file.
Best regards,
RikardJune 23, 2022 at 10:02 am #1356264Hello Rikard,
The last time I got a 404 error was because of the firewalls. My IT asked me for my IP address and they white listed it just so I could get full access. That’s the reason I asked for you IP.
I am not very familiar with server stuff. Could you please help me out and be a bit more specific about what you need whitelisted, and what files you need access to?
I will communicate that to our developer and hopefully we can get you access to anything you need.
Thank you
June 23, 2022 at 10:51 am #1356267Hi,
Thanks for the update. I’m not sure exactly what you are referring to, but we don’t need access to anything. The server you are running your website on is returning a 404 error message on a WordPress file, and that is likely why the Layout Builder is not working as it should. Could you try reaching out to your hosting provider, so that they can check why the server is responding with that error message please?
Best regards,
RikardJune 23, 2022 at 4:07 pm #1356310I was answering your question on why did I asked for your IP address.
Could you be more specific about returning a 404 error message on a WordPress file?
When you said a WordPress file, what exactly are you referring to? Are you talking about a specific file, the WordPress install, or the whole site? A screenshot would be very helpful too if that’s possible.Thank you.
June 23, 2022 at 7:28 pm #1356325June 24, 2022 at 10:39 am #1356381Hello Rikard, I have contacted our hosting provider.
Here is their answer, I hope this helps you understand why we need your IP address.
Hoste Provider:
In my 30+ years of IT this is definitely the first time I have heard that a company doesn’t want to provide IP information. Without knowing anything more, if their IP is a non US based IP they won’t have access to the server as those IPs are only configured to browse their site.
All websites have total access to their code and files, however if the plugin needs to communicate to a foreign – Non-US company, I would need to know that in order to configure and allow it. Due to all the hacking and attacks, I have our servers locked down pretty tight. In conclusion, we need to know your IP address to be able to give you access as I mentioned in the first message of this thread.
June 24, 2022 at 11:47 am #1356395Hi,
Thanks for the update. I think you might be missing the problem here, it’s not that we cannot access your site. It’s that your server is returning a 404 (not found) error for a file located on your server. How would us providing an IP help with that? Also, which IP would that be?
I’d be happy to share my personal IP with you, but it won’t change anything in regards to the Layout Builder not loading on your site.
And for clarity; the theme doesn’t need to communicate with anything on our end for the Layout Builder to work.
Best regards,
Rikard -
