    Update!!!

    These have now started to work on mysite as of the v2.0 flashlight upgrade !!

    in reply to: SEO and Images Sitemap Question #106756

    Ok Ive only come across one issue it seems

    I went into the media library and deleted all of the images not attached to a post or article, this got rid of all of the ?post_type=avia_framework_post&p= refrences

    It also deleted a few backgrounds for my pages including the flashlight default background to be used if one is not set.

    I found that the flashlight theme admin panel is still posting the “Default Background Image Gallery” images to

    http://www.jamespictures.co.uk/?post_type=avia_framework_post&p=709

    not sure if I fudged the upgrade up or not

    but everywhere else in the theme has a new fancy media upload type widget yet the flashlight theme settings does not, it still uses the old v1.9 one, not sure if it was overlooked, or missed from the changelog

    in reply to: SEO and Images Sitemap Question #106755

    I think the ones still using the

    ?post_type=avia_framework_post&p=

    Are the ones that are not assigned to a post or page or anything :)

    in reply to: SEO and Images Sitemap Question #106754

    ohhhh loving the new gallery options in the theme, very nice indeed

    Ive updated, seems to have worked

    http://www.jamespictures.co.uk/sitemap-image.xml

    there is still a few reading as ?post_type=avia_framework_post&p=

    but its fixed the portfolio and theme background ones (I think)

    I will monitor it

    Great support and help as usual :)

    in reply to: SEO and Images Sitemap Question #106753

    haha cant believe I missed all that in the version_flashlight.rtf

    Its because I skipped straight down the the date that was on themeforest

    Ill do it now :)

    Cheers Dude

    in reply to: SEO and Images Sitemap Question #106751

    Your version numbers still don’t correspond BTW

    Theme forest say v1.9 is the latest as at 2012 10 30 however the download is v2.0 and the files say v2.0

    Ive updated the theme, as it was only the style.css and the framework folder only took 2 minutes

    Im presuming the changes will take effect slowly… no idea ?

    or do I need to re-build the image sitemap ?

    in reply to: SEO and Images Sitemap Question #106750

    ah didn’t know version 2.0 was out

    I’m away all this week and ive got a few edits in the theme files so I will update the site next week when I return

    I might take a quick peek to see what files are changed and see how long it might take

    Thanks for the heads up

    in reply to: How to hide [caption][/caption] from my search results #106816

    Well that was easy !!

    I copied and pasted some suggested code and it worked

    Code:
    add_filter(‘the_excerpt’, ‘remove_shortcode_from_excerpt’);

    function remove_shortcode_from_excerpt($excerpt) {
    if ( is_search() ) {
    $excerpt = strip_shortcodes( $excerpt );
    }
    return $excerpt;
    }

    Seems to have fixed the search results for me, dont know if its broke anything else yet :)

    in reply to: Thumb Images Missing From Theme Widgets #105810

    Ive narrowed the function down to

    function widget($args, $instance) in the file class-framework-widgets.php

    They both use the same function, not sure why one would display and one wouldn’t yet

    Thank you foe being honest, I like that

    I think i can manage without it, but its such a cool feature to show product variations, maybe add it to a “wish List” or mention for that product variations is not supported as yet in the themeforest product page.

    I will make do with the themes sideshow gallery, but its not ideal.

    Dont suppose you know of any way to tap into the already uploaded images for the themes gallery plugin do you ?

    For example every product I add im going to have to re-upload the same images over and over meaning im going to end up with lots of the same images on the server which in turn slows the load times and makes managing images a right royal pain

    in reply to: Problem with imagen into Blog Post and with screen refresh #104206

    Here is my thread >> https://kriesi.at/support/topic/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -product-page-in-woocommerce dont know if thats going to help you though :)

    in reply to: Problem with imagen into Blog Post and with screen refresh #104205

    its probably a conflict with a script or plugin, try doing it with the plugins off

    I had a problem where the shop pages kept going blank white and it was a outdated plugin causing it, the only way to test it is to turn them off and add them 1 by one, and in fairness I also turned error reporting on as well to see what errors were being thrown.

    Mine was because of depreciated functions from a plugin, I fixed them in the end, but it was a simple problem

    in reply to: Ecommerce #104179

    for the quater of a page problem I had to hack the CSS

    Its been doing this since the update of the flashlight theme v1.9 the edits are here >> https://kriesi.at/support/topic/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out)(Purchase code hidden if logged out) #post-92468

    As for the shortcode, some of the shortcodes worked and some didnt, I cant recall which ones did not

    in reply to: changing preview_image #104203

    Have you changed it in the flashlight functions.php file ?

    Its near the top of the file

    make sure you clear your browsers cache as well, and if your using any thing like WPCache clear that as well :)

    in reply to: 2 quick Flashlight questions and 1 not so quick … maybe #104190

    Thanks for the nice words, im still learning photography too, been at it 12 months now :)

    Have you tried setting the image as “featured” on the right hand side of the page when you add the product ? http://imgur.com/RtAK292

    Also have you added the image to the flashlight image gallery on the product page, ive found this is not a must but it ads it to the product description….

    I have found that the theme image set-up for products is well lets say not the best to be frank. You can only set one product image OR set as many as you like using the themes gallery, the problem arises say if you have 5 images per product and 100 products, you need to upload 500 images, there is no option to re-use the already uploaded images, which is a pain and extra server load and slows page loads in my opinion.

    I think im going to have to hack it up myself to get it sorted but I bet its not going to be easy

    in reply to: 2 quick Flashlight questions and 1 not so quick … maybe #104188

    Ill try

    1) Cant comment on, the owner would need to reply

    2) You have the latest version, I know that v1.9 is actually v1.8 it should be changed to stop confusing people.

    3) I also could not import the test date ( i purchased v1.7 about 8 months ago) I didn’t look into why it would not work, I guess it needs testing again by the admin staff, but I can verify it is not you :)

    I can see your shop, and it is a bit tricky to setup to be fair, I can also see your shop product and again, I did not have this display problem in v1.7 but after upgrading to v1.8 I did. I just tweaked the CSS to fix it

    I had to change the attribute found in (themes/flashlight/woocommerce-config/woocommerce-mod.css)

    .template-shop-single .product {

    overflow: hidden;

    }

    To

    .template-shop-single .product {

    overflow: visible;

    }

    And then change (in the themes/flashlight/style.css)

    .entry-content {

    position: relative;

    width: 100%;

    }

    To

    .entry-content {

    position: relative;

    }

    That will get you started, I also changed the width of my shop as I thought it was to narrow >> http://www.jamespictures.co.uk/product/famous-gate/ I am actually in the process of setting it up / testing it so its work in progress for now :) Im new to WP and Woocommerce so its a steep learning curve ATM

    in reply to: Ecommerce #104176

    I wanted to do the same, but once the image is in the lightbox “pop-up” it cant be done, ive already asked a similar question.

    I have several portfolios and wanted to link the images to the shop so I didn’t have to re-add all the portfolio images into the shop one by one, but it seems its not possible.

    The only suggestion I had was to add a link to the shop from the main portfolio page, bummer really.. but I suppose the portfolio is just that… some where to display your work and not a shop :-)

    in reply to: Is it possible to add to cart from the portfolio ? #102725

    Im getting there

    If I add a link using HTML character entities like:

    <a href="text.html">hello</a>

    ( your forums wont allow HTML Characters here is the link ? >> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_XML_and_HTML_character_entity_references

    The popup will display a working link and display correctly

    If I use a shorcode for example:

    [product id=”99″]

    it displays the HTML as text.

    in reply to: Is it possible to add to cart from the portfolio ? #102724

    Dont suppose if you know I can add shortcodes to the lightbox popup ?

    I’m adding it and the HTML is messing the popup

    My alternative method is to just add the relevant shop images to the bottom of the blog article, but not ideal as i cant add them to the portfolio

    I guess I might have to read up a little more ;)

    in reply to: Is it possible to add to cart from the portfolio ? #102723

    ohh, thanks for the link thats exactly what I was looking for, cant believe I never stumbled upon this on my travels !!!

    Thank you

    in reply to: Blank White Page on Add Product Page in WooCommerce #101762

    I have absolutely no idea !!! haha

    I have not compressed the files lol

    I think I have it fixed now, don’t ask me how, I had a few “old” plugins that was using depreciated functions so Ive updated them all and it seems to be working okay for now

    If the problem returns, I will remember your post Nick and look into this further..

    in reply to: Blank White Page on Add Product Page in WooCommerce #101759

    So ive setup a manual php.ini and it was set the memory was set to 90MB as default

    I have changed it to128MB restarted the server and its still doing it.

    I found this thread,

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out)(Purchase code hidden if logged out) -to-remote-server

    this IS MY problem… Ive contacted the host again

    Sorry about this, great support as usual :-)

    in reply to: Blank White Page on Add Product Page in WooCommerce #101758

    Hi Nick

    No ive not compressed any CSS or JS files, I tested the site with no modifications (default flashlight theme) and it was still doing it

    Im just in the process now of increasing the server memory, got to do it myself, dreamhost wash there hands so there is no comebacks on there part !! hehe

    in reply to: Featured Image is lost every time I save the Product page #81075

    bizarre, Ive found a little work round

    If I add my product like above the featured image wont save, If I go back into the item and re-add the featured image and DO NOT hit “update”

    Navigate away the featured image saves to the product :-)

    Im happy now !!

    Just got to work out why im gettting white pages on the shop ;-)

    in reply to: Featured Image is lost every time I save the Product page #81074

    Flashlight products have been using the WP Media Gallery, ive been using it ;-)

    When I add a product im adding my product image in the “product description” box via the WP Media Gallery. (most of my images that i am selling are already in the WP Media Gallery)

    I then add the product description in the “product short description box”

    I then set the featured image, which also uses the WP Media Gallery.

    Im not even using the themes Flashlight gallery because it means adding another image that is already in the WP Media Gallery, cant see the point

    You can see a preview of a test product here >> http://www.jamespictures.co.uk/product/1684/

    I guess If I have to use the Flashlight Media Gallery I will, but I would rather use the WP media gallery, simply because all my images are already uploaded there ;-)

    in reply to: Blank White Page on Add Product Page in WooCommerce #101756

    Ah, makes sense

    Its doing it now when I eventually get to edit a product and then hit the update, goes to a the dreaded white screen

    I will ask the host :)

    in reply to: Blank White Page on Add Product Page in WooCommerce #101754

    Why would it be Memory Dude, curiosity more than anything ?

    I uploaded a clean copy of the flashlight theme and its still doing it

    I added

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’96M’);

    to my wp-config.php file, ill test it now and get back to you.

    Not sure what my host has the memory restricted to, I will chuck them a ticket.

    in reply to: Featured Image is lost every time I save the Product page #81072

    Mine is doing the same

    im using latest WP v3.5 and latest Flash Light theme v1.8 (v1.9)

    I add a featured image from the media gallery, save the page and it will save it as the featured image. now when I save the page it a gamble if it saves or not some times it does and sometimes it doesn’t, if it does i celebrate!!! .

    When I edit a product and update it, it deletes the featured image, and I have to go back in and add it again, and its a gamble again if it works.

    Also I don’t want to use the Flash Light Image gallery for products, all my images are uploaded to the WordPress Image Gallery, so I cant see the point in having 2 of the exact same images on the server making more load time for the potential buyer, shops need to be streamlined and fast for the user or they will leave.

    That’s a different issue though

    in reply to: Blank White Page on Add Product Page in WooCommerce #101751

    So I changed the theme to Twenty Eleven default WP theme and I can add / edit products every time

    I dont understand how the admin area can be controlled by a theme, but it seems it works fine with the default WP theme.

    I have modified my theme a little from v1.7 flashlight but mainly only CSS and the helper-slideshow.php file.

    I will upload the latest v1.8 flashlight from scratch and see how that works, just to rule out any theme modifications I have done

    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out)

    It was named wrong, its 1.8

    Sorry not a fix to your problem I know but it answers the 1.8 > 1.9 problem
