If you change the z-index the picture will go behind the button and the button will be clickable but the design will not be what you need. Maybe you should put the button below the countdown and then the image on the right.

Which version of php are you running?
Please update the theme to the latest version. That should fix any issues you are currently experiencing :)

You should be running at least php5.6.3 for the code to work properly. Please consider upgrading your php version.
