Did you add the JavaScript from the thread you posted? It is working for older versions and not for the later ones. And so the icons are not moved to the burger menu.

You need to remove .home from here:

as it is the class of the front page and all other pages remain unaffected.

Well, to center the text the container have to have more width and with the inline element, it will not work. You can try the left margin, but it might not be ideal:
