Yes, it is better to use the images as the grid cell background as Gunter suggested and this way they will be more responsive. Please copy the page but use images as background and we can help you with that.

1. You can use the page id class to put a different image in the different page

This code should have no-repeat:

I am seeing the Layer Slider there not the image in the header. Did you remove it?
