Hi Philip,
Thanks for the update. I can’t access your screenshots, since it’s asking me to login into iCloud, and I don’t have an account for that. Could you upload the images to Google Drive or Dropbox instead please?
Best regards,

I see that you have updated your site now, I’m guess that it solved the problem you were having?

RikardNovember 16, 2022 at 2:57 pm in reply to: Update to Enfold 5.2.1 breaks footer and other child elements #1372784Hi,
Thanks for that. The CSS is targeting an ID which has changed. If you change after_submenu_1 to after_grid_row_1, then it should work as expected for the first section for example. But I would advise that you set the background in a Color Section element instead though, and move the content into that section. Then you don’t have to worry about custom CSS.

RikardHey evopoint,
Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

RikardHi Garrett,
Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (5.2.1) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

Thanks for that. If you don’t know what is needed or not on the site, then it might be a good idea to reach out to the developer which added the code in question. If you want to debug this yourself, then you can try to remove all the code, then add one function back at a time to see when things start going wrong.
Best regards,
RikardHi,
Thanks for that. Please activate the Appearance->Theme file editor, or include FTP login details in private as well.

The content in the child theme is not controlled or added by us, so I’m not sure why that code has been added. You can view the documentation here though: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/wp_register_script/.
If you don’t need the code in your child theme, then you could remove everything which has been added to it. You might want to back it up locally first though, in case you should need it further on.

RikardHi,

RikardHey nbalian,
I guess it depends on where you want to place the code in question? Did you try it in a widget in the footer for example?

Sorry about that, line 74 in functions.php in your child theme. You can check it either via FTP, or under Appearance->Theme file editor in WordPress.

RikardHey Michael,
If you want to use anchor links, then you have to add the anchor as an ID in a Color Section element for example. There is no element on the page you linked to with the ID next-section.

RikardHey intension,
Are you overriding header.php or footer.php in a child theme? If so, then please replace those files with the parent theme files, then add your customisations back in after that.
If you should need further help, then please include admin WordPress login details in private.
Best regards,
RikardHi,
Thanks for the update. I’m not sure exactly why that happened unfortunately, but the if the CSS is working, then please continue using it.

RikardNovember 15, 2022 at 4:35 pm in reply to: Update to Enfold 5.2.1 breaks footer and other child elements #1372658Hi,
Thanks for the update. We can’t really give you any answers to your questions unless we can look at the old site. If the problems are only on the home page, then I think it would be easier to simply fix what is broken, rather than digging through what went wrong. Knowing what went wrong is not really important in my opinion, since the problem would need fixing anyway.
I would recommend that you update on a staging site first in the future, that way you would avoid having problems like these on your production site.
