    I was able to get the token working
    and have updated now to WP 5.7.1 which is running Enfold V4.8.1

    Coming back to the original layout problem – it’s still there on the page linked below.
    the last video of the 3 is just a black rectangle – and the 1/3 column at the end (with the text and concertina) is pushed down below the last video (the black one) instead of showing on the right-hand side of the page.
    Note: When I have only two videos on the page it works fine – but 3 videos or more causes this problem if encased in a 2/3 column like this.

    Any thought on how to fix it ?

    I can provide login details if that is necessary – please let me know.

    An update.
    I was able to update enfold using the plug-in but when I clicked on go to themes page my screen showed white with an error message. All WP dashboard and functions were inaccessible but the website showed ok.
    My hosting co helped by updating to PHP 7.2 which then allowed me to access the WP dashboard again.

    So I then created the personal token in ENVATO. I tried two different ones inside enfold but both were rejected with the black box error message. Not sure what more I can do with that. Any ideas what could cause that ?
    Thanks
    Pete

    hi Rikard
    Thanks for your reply and the links.
    Im going to try the plugin method as it seems to work well for many.

    My theme is already customised within the child theme – with some edits to functions.php.
    I assume the CSS changes we usually make in the GUI box are stored in the style.css within the child theme too?

    Can I please check –
    1. are the child theme files untouched by the plugin update method for enfold.zip (v4.8.1) – and my site tweaks will continue to run fine with the updated enfold V4.8.1?
    2. do I need to make any changes to functions.php in the child theme when I update to V4.8.1 – or is the core child functions.php still ok to work with the updated enfold V4.8.1
    3. Is there also a child theme update for V4.8.1. that I need to install along with the main theme update v4.8.1 ?

    Hope you can help on the above.

    Thanks
    Pete

    Hi Rikard
    Thanks so much for a clear and thorough reply.
    I will hold off updating my Enfold theme for now.

    I am still considering updating WP though, to version 5.XX onwards.

    What issues am I likely to encounter with my current Enfold 4.4 installation when I update to the WP 5.XX with the Gutenberg Block-Based Editor.
    Note that I am still happy to continue editing with the Enfold editor so I don’t expect to use the WP block editor.

    Look forward to any advice or links you can offer.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Pete

    Hi
    Yes its working now. I didn’t do anything to fix it. Seems to have fixed itself!

    Maybe when I installed the WP rocket plugin and regenerated cache etc it cleared the initial problem which may have come about when I first edited the page – thats all I can think of.

    Thanks for checking :)

    Pete

    Hi Ismael,
    When I updated to Enfold 4.4 I didn’t have any caching plugins running at all or any lazy loader plugins and the problem on that page was there straight away.

    Note that its not just the video that is black – the problem also shifts the text/accordian from the screen right hand side (final third) of the screen to below the third video. Please compare to the other portfolio item pages which are working perfectly.

    I now have WP Rocket running – but Lazy Loader is only turned ON for images – not videos.

    My private login info is below.

    thanks and best regards,

    Hi Victoria.
    its any page with the Media Element audio player on.
    here’s an example.

    http://british-voiceover.co.uk/2018-one-voice-awards-8-nominations-pete-edmunds/

    It shows as s progressive yellow bar moving along as it plays the audio.

    it looks ok and is usable – I just preferred what I saw in previous version of enfold that I had (V3.8) where instead it showed the yellow animated bar like this style you can see on my studio page lower down on the left:-
    http://british-voiceover.co.uk/voiceover-studio/

    The best description seems to be barbershop – as thats what those red/white stripe pole signs looks like outside the shop when they rotate :)

    Any ideas how to get the audio player to show the yellow striped version?

    Here is a very early version of my website – the audio player was broken here but you can see the striped audio player progress bar – looks nice!

    Pete

    Thanks Victoria.

    I only have a small query about the animated play bar within the audio player.
    In Enfold 3.8 it was like a moving barber shop stripe in Yellow. (same I use on progress bars on my Studio page)

    But now I moved to Enfold 4.4 the nice yellow stripes are replaced with a simple solid yellow bar.

    Any idea how I can bring back the barber shop stripes?

    thanks

    Pete

    Hi Rikard,

    Just to let you know I updated my Enfold theme to V4.4 today. Also running WordPress latest V 4.9.6.

    The audio players inside the icon boxes are now displaying perfectly as in the screenshot below :)
    Looks good on chrome and safari – much cleaner / nicer styling too with sharper corners and bigger play button.

    https://screencast.com/t/Jo8UcypFozv

    As you say the headline rotator problem is still there on safari – I take your point that it is out of your hands.

    thanks for your help.

    Hi Ismael,
    Thanks for the info. I have everything working now.
    In case anyone else is looking to solve this – listed below I used a combination of your CSS ideas with a few small changes to take all input field borders (apart from the Contact Form 7 borders) back to the default theme colour of E1E1E1. Best regards. Pete

    ———-

    /* Reset all but CF7 Input Fields to default E1E1E1 border*/

    #top .sidebar #s {
    border-color: #e1e1e1;
    }

    #top #s {
    border-color: #e1e1e1;
    }

    #top #comment {
    border-color: #e1e1e1;
    }

    Hi Ismael,
    Thanks for the message. Looking at the CSS for the contact page with CF7 it seems we have the following for the input fields.
    its frustrating that we can’t use the WPCF7 CSS with the other fields as well.

    Name (required) – causes other text input fields in ENFOLD to use this styling
    #top .main_color input[type=’text’],

    Email (required) – WORKS
    #top .main_color input[type=’email’],

    Subject – causes other text input fields in ENFOLD to use this styling
    #top .main_color input[type=’text’],

    Message (required) – WORKS!!
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 textarea,

    ————
    It seems that Solution #2 as we call it has to be used to make the name and subject fields work. But it also makes any other text field input within enfold follow the same styling.

    Here;s what we have:-

    #top .main_color .input-text,
    #top .main_color input[type=’text’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’input’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’password’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’email’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’number’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’url’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’tel’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’search’],
    #top .main_color textarea,
    #top .main_color select {
    border-color: #232323;
    border-radius: 3px;
    margin-top: 5px;
    }
    —————

    *I have the search results CSS fix – that works great – thanks.

    *The others input field borders that need to be maintained with the default E1E1E1 border colour are:-

    1. Search field at top right on my NEWS sidebar – See screenshot below.
    2. Any Comment fields on posts, media etc throughout the site. – any ideas on how to do this as well ?

    https://screencast.com/t/kCZRXBCHz

    https://screencast.com/t/AF6Do1N1
    P.S. IS THERE A WAY TO TURN OFF COMMENTS SECTION FOR MEDIA SUCH IS THIS IMAGE ?

    Thanks for all your help.

    Pete

    HI Ismael,
    Thanks for that CSS it does work but I prefer to use an alternative solution which is to go back to Victorias original suggestion of CSS to restrict the border #232323 to JUST the Contact Form 7.

    This was the code she gave me ( I called it SOLUTION #2 above).
    ——-
    /* CF7 Input Field border and radius */
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 .input-text,
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’text’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’input’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’password’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’email’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’number’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’url’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’tel’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’search’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 textarea,
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 select {
    border-color: #232323;
    border-radius: 3px;
    margin-top: 5px;
    }

    ————
    It almost works! The only problem is that for some reason it doesn’t make the borders #232323 on the following fields:-
    -Name
    -Email
    -Subject.

    For some reason it only makes the borders #232323 on the Message field. See screenshot below.

    Can you offer an idea on what CSS is needed to make sure the other fields are also border #232323?
    I have been looking at the inspector but I dont have the skill to find the CSS I need. I’m sure it must be a relatively easy solution?

    Thanks in advance.
    Pete

    here is the page:

    here’s the screenshot.

    https://screencast.com/t/K1wmQHge

    Hi Victoria,
    Yes it looks fine for borders. The issue on point 1. was the CSS you gave me with SOLUTION#1 also creates the same hard black border around the SEARCH field which is something I don’t want – it looks strange. When you gave me the SOLUTION #2 above to fix this search field problem ( – to retstrict the black border to the CF7 only) – then I lost the border on the first two CF7 input fields. So neither SOLUTION#1 or #2 above fully worked for me.
    Maybe I just need to keep the border code I have in SOLUTON#1 and add some CSS code specifically for the Search field CSS to prevent that field from picking up this hard black border as shown below? Any idea how I can fix this? See below.

    https://screencast.com/t/z3ZqwaDIV4h

    The issue with the submit button gap I’ll write about separately below so as not to confuse the two problems.

    thanks

    Pete

    hi Vinay / Victoria,

    1. I didn’t really fix the border issue – I just went back to the previous version of the CSS give to me by Victoria – as below. This creates the borders around the contact page fields as needed – BUT it also creates the same border around the search field which is something I don’t want – any idea how I can fix this?

    SOLUTION #1

    /* CF7 Input Field border and radius */
    #top .main_color .input-text,
    #top .main_color input[type=’text’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’input’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’password’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’email’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’number’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’url’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’tel’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’search’],
    #top .main_color textarea,
    #top .main_color select {
    border-color: #232323;
    border-radius: 3px;
    margin-top: 5px;
    }

    WHEN I TRIED TO USE THE SECOND BATCH OF CSS, AS BELOW, TO FIX THE SEARCH FIELD – IT HAD THE EFFECT OF TAKING THE BORDER AWAY FROM THE NAME AND EMAIL INPUT FIELDS ON THE CONTACT FORM – SO I SEEM TO BE STUCK BETWEEN TWO CSS SOLUTIONS WHICH ALMOST WORK BUT NOT QUITE.

    SOLUTION #2

    /* CF7 Input Field border and radius */
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 .input-text,
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’text’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’input’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’password’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’email’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’number’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’url’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’tel’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 input[type=’search’],
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 textarea,
    #top .main_color .wpcf7 select {
    border-color: #232323;
    border-radius: 3px;
    margin-top: 5px;
    }

    2. The gap above the submit button is made better by VInays code – but should this gap be the same between all responsive views. Currently it seems to change in size between views. I wonder if you have any thoughts on this? NOTE: The gap above summit button was constant for all views before I added Victoria’s CSS to help switch the first two input fields – name and email – to stacked on top of each other when in the narrower mobile view.

    Hope the above makes sense and you are able to help.

    thanks
    Pete

    thanks
    Pete

    Hi Victoria – Any thoughts / ideas / fixes on the above message from me?
    thanks
    Pete

    Hi Victoria – thanks for your latest CSS. See Screenshot below.

    1. The new CSS works great at balancing the vertical gap between fields – but has the side effect of closing the gap above the Send button completely – which was an undesired affect. Any way I can fix this?

    2. As mentioned in last message, the CSS To limit the border to only the CF7 has the effect of leaving a black border around the text area / message field. but the black border style is lost from the NAME and EMAIL fields. Any way I can fix this? I have put a list of my current CSS for this page below the screenshot.

    Thanks, Pete

    Hi Victoria – Thanks for the info.

    POINT 2.
    Here is the stacked view (mobile viewport) where the vertical gaps between the fields are equal.
    2018-04-09_0949_StackedView.png

    Here’s the desktop / widescreen view – unstacked fields – you can see the vertical gaps are no longer equal since I added the CSS to make the email field sit alongside the name field.
    2018-04-09_0956_desktopview_unstacked.png
    ——-

    I tried the new code you gave me to restrict the borders to the CF7 form only. It worked fine to take the search fields back to the default – but as you can see from the screenshots it also removed the borders from everything but the message text area. Any ideas on how to also fix that?

    Thanks for your help.

    in reply to: Contact Form 7 with Enfold Styles #938251

    Thanks so much Victoria! thats a really clever bit of CSS!

    I’ve set it at 1368px – just wider than iPad pro screen horizontal.
    It works fine apart from a couple of small things:-

    1. On the wide desktop version where the name and email are side by side – the space between that line and the SUBJECT line below seems to be wider than when the 2 fields are stacked on top of each other.

    2. Also on desktop perhaps the gap/padding above the Name/Email line is wider making a large gap between that line on desktop view and the bulleted text above. Ideally I would like the gaps above/below field to be consistent between desktop and mobile.

    3. The CSS you provided to create black field borders is being carried into the Enfold Search field. Is there a way I can restrict this border styling to the CF7 form?

    Here’s the full quick CSS i have for this contact page at the moment including your latest fixes.

    /* CF7 Submit Button CSS Styles */
    .wpcf7 input[type=submit] {
    padding:15px 45px;
    background:#FCE228;
    color:#232323;
    font-size:16px;
    font-weight:bold;
    border:1px solid #232323;
    cursor:pointer;
    -webkit-border-radius: 3px;
    border-radius: 3px;
    }

    /* CF7 Submit Button CSS Hover Styles */
    .wpcf7 input[type=submit]:hover {
    background-color: #232323;
    color: #FCE228;
    border:1px solid #232323;
    }

    /* CF7 Label Text Styles */
    .wpcf7 label {
    padding: 0 0 10px 0;
    font-size: 20px;
    color:#232323;
    }

    /* CF7 File Upload Button CSS Styles */

    .wpcf7 input[type=file] {

    border:none;
    -webkit-border-radius: 3px;

    }

    /* CF7 Input Field Heights */
    .wpcf7 input[type=text] {height:40px;}
    .wpcf7 input[type=email] {height:40px;}

    /* CF7 Input Field border and radius */
    #top .main_color .input-text,
    #top .main_color input[type=’text’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’input’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’password’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’email’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’number’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’url’], #top .main_color input[type=’tel’],
    #top .main_color input[type=’search’], #top .main_color textarea, #top .main_color select {
    border-color: #232323;
    border-radius: 3px;
    margin-top: 5px;
    }

    /* CF7 name and email Fields alongside but not on mobile */
    @media only screen and (min-width: 1368px) {
    #top .wpcf7-form-control-wrap.your-name input[type=text] {
    width: 95%;

    }
    .wpcf7-form div + p, .wpcf7-form div + p + p {
    width: 50%;
    float: left;

    }
    .wpcf7-form div + p + p {
    clear: right;
    }

    }

    ————-
    I also have some styling on the ENFOLD search button etc from some previous work as below:-

    /* ENFOLD Search Button and Hover CSS Styles */

    #searchsubmit {
    background-color:#fce228!important;
    }
    #searchsubmit {
    color:#232323!important;
    }
    #searchsubmit:hover{
    background-color:#232323!important;
    }
    #searchsubmit:hover {
    color:#fce228!important;
    }

    Thanks for your help :)

    HI Victoria – thanks for getting back to me.
    Your code above did a great job for the input boxes, border colours and fixed the problem I was having when adding padding above the box/below the label :).

    STILL OUTSTANDING:
    One of the key things I was trying to do was my query number 1. – how to make the CF7 Name and Email input boxes sit alongside each other on a desktop screen (just like they do on my Enfold form screenshot ) and then stack on top of each other as they also do with Enfold contact form for mobile? My contact page is split 2/3 for the form on the left and 1/3 for the yellow block on the right (although the RH yellow block moves below the contact form on mobile view.

    Hope you can help

    thanks

    Hello – my query is for styling with CSS on similar topic to above – using contact form 7.
    So far I have added this Quick CSS as below and it mostly looks fine. I used a combination of your ideas above and some from this Tutorial video:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKarC0QO5og

    /* Submit Button CSS Styles */
    .wpcf7 input[type=submit] {
    padding:15px 45px;
    background:#FCE228;
    color:#232323;
    font-size:16px;
    font-weight:bold;
    border:0 none;
    cursor:pointer;
    -webkit-border-radius: 3px;
    border-radius: 3px;
    }

    /* Submit Button CSS Hover Styles */
    .main_color input[type=’submit’]:hover {
    background-color: #232323;
    color: #FCE228;
    }

    /* Label Text Styles */
    .wpcf7 label {
    padding: 0 0 10px 0;
    font-size: 20px;
    color:#232323;
    }

    I want to style further as follows:- Numbered to help your reference :).

    1. Make the NAME and EMAIL input fields on same line when the browser width permits. This is how the old Enfold Contact form worked by default. Here’s a screen shot showing ENFOLD default above and CF7 below. I assume it will need to default to stacked on top of each other for mobile view as it does now.

    Screen Shot 2018-04-03 at 17.49.44.png

    2. My CSS above wasn’t able to add more padding below the label. I tried 20, 40 etc – but it looked just the same. Assuming 20px is the bottom padding?

    3. How to add the styling to make the input boxes like my enfold screenshot – with borders coloured #232323 – and with the same rounding as enfold – assume 3px radius?

    4. [EDIT- FOUND SOLUTION TO THIS NOW! ] How to add a thin coloured ( #232323) border to the Send button – as I had on the old Enfold contact form? There was also a border colour on the button Hover CSS above but I found it didn’t seem to do anything.

    Hope you can help with the above. Much appreciated.

    Hi Rikard – thanks for the quick reply.

    ROTATOR PROBLEM
    I’m using Safari – Version 11.0.2 (11604.4.7.1.6). The problem happens even when you only have 1 tab – of you leave the window and then come back to it again – the rotated text has fallen onto two line as per my screenshot.

    I just tried Chrome Version 65.0.3325.162 (Official Build) (64-bit) and the rotator works perfectly on Chrome – no problems with the rotator there.

    AUDIO PLAYER DISPLAY PROBLEM ON CHROME – 65.0.3325.162
    NOTE. On Chrome – the ME audio player display problem reported in late 2016 is still there. See lower down my homepage – here’s a screenshot. Im running on iMac 27inch (2015) with El Capitan. I opened some previous topics on this but it was never fixed. See my history.
    This problem is not evident with Safari. If you would like login info to inspect – please let me know.

    RE: CHILD THEME
    I am running a child theme setup. I made a change to functions.PHP when setting my site up. If I update to latest Enfold version – will my PHP changes be in tact?

    Also there seems to be some fundamental differences in blog and portfolio layout options etc in new 2017 enfold. does this mean my classic enfold portfolio and blog grid formats will remain in tact when I upgrade?

    As always – thanks for your wonderful support.

    Pete

    yes thanks – you can close this one.
    cheers

    hi Rikard.
    Clearing the cache did not help – the problem was still there – so I upgraded Safari to Ver 10.1.2 and the problem has now gone away :)
    thanks for your help.

    – After 3-4 months of design and development my new Voiceover Business website is live!
    – Huge thanks to all the support team at Kriesi for their patience and help with my styling/CSS etc :)
    – Based on the classic Enfold demo with a few of my favourite ideas from other Enfold demos added in.
    – Designed with mobile/responsive view uppermost in my mind.
    – As I was working on the site I was constantly amazed at the flexibility and simplicity of the AVIA layout builder and the elements. Such a wonderful theme!!

    Hi Rikard,

    I found that this worked – like yours but I had to put .responsive in also:-

    @media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
    .responsive .tabcontainer .tab_content {
    padding: 0px 0px;
    }
    }

    It only works well on the Tab option “with border”. Which is fine for my site as thats what I need :)
    if you choose tabs “without border” then the same CSS means you lose the padding on the right hand side of the desktop (non responsive view)

    thanks for your help.

    hi Yigit!

    Thanks for the idea. It has the exact opposite effect of what I want. Maybe my request wasn’t so clear.

    For normal view / desktop etc – I want to keep the padding on left and right of tab container.

    For mobile / responsive view I want to remove he padding on left and right of tab container.

    My attempt to solve was to use the .responsive CSS version – this worked for mobile view – but I found that this was also affecting the normal view and removing padding that I wanted to keep.

    Any idea how I can restrict the .responsive CSS to make sure it doesn’t get used everywhere?

    cheers

    Pete

    I found some CSS to fix my last problem for the small white band – I just coloured the background in to match the audio player. This is fine.

    So the only outstanding problem is that my CSS to remove tab content padding left and right in mobile view is also being carried forward into the desktop view.
    This is the CSS I used:-

    .responsive .tabcontainer .tab_content {
    padding: 0px 0px;
    }

    Thanks

    hi Rikard

    I managed to find some CSS to remove padding on mobile view – but it also removes padding on desktop view as well which is not ideal.
    http://screencast.com/t/locvocnKUNM mobile view – left and right padding removed. (small white band still shows at top and bottom of container).
    I used this:-
    —–
    .responsive .tabcontainer .tab_content {
    padding: 0px 0px;
    }
    —–

    Desktop view in private link below shows the padding also taken away on left and right. If there’s a way to fix this I would been keen to hear this.

    Also in the mobile view – is there a CSS fix to remove the small white band/padding at top and bottom as shown by the arrowheads in my screenshot?

    thanks for your support as always.
