Did you add the code to the very top of quick css so it runs first? Also, be sure to clear the cache a few times over.

Yes, we include a bundle version of layerslider, but it may not always be the latest. If you want the latest and all updates immediately, you have to purchase on you own.

I would create 3 columns, add a text section to each one to add the image and text, then use css to style from there.

If it is the code being overwritten that you are worried about, all code in quick css is safe from updates. Otherwise you can add custom.css to your child theme directory.
